As a leader within Humana?s Marketing Organization, this individual will serve as a primary business partner to segment leadership across the enterprise. This individual will have oversight of marketing strategy development in close collaboration with business partners, and will oversee the planning and implementation of related marketing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a successful, on-going delivery of marketing strategies that drive and align marketing initiatives to meet defined business objectives.
- Effectively partner with business segment leadership to ensure resource levels remain appropriate, taking into account market expansions, acquisitions, new product offerings and competitive shifts. Ensure our Marketing organization understands the impact of these shifts and opportunities.
- Provide executive decision support in a flexible, timely manner, drawing from existing strategic framework and new insights.
- Oversee and manage all strategy, planning, plan execution, financial management and measurement for the Lines of Business marketing team.
- Lead, motivate, inspire and engage a team of experienced and motivated Marketing Directors.
- Advocate for and provide actionable insight into national and market-by-market: business environments, competitive position, product portfolio offerings and network position.
- Articulate compelling value propositions and develop messaging that aligns with the Humana brand.
- Collaborate within broader Innovation & Marketing organization to ensure consistency within market strategies, communications and messaging.

- Provide context and strategic input for marketing initiatives based on overall Humana business and marketing strategies.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop strategic solutions for marketing initiatives, together with business owners.
- Support the company's business strategies and market growth through developing and leading the development of various marketing strategies.
- Lead partnerships between marketing and internal clients to identify business opportunities or issues and develop initiatives for addressing those needs.
- Educate internal clients on best use of marketing strategies and expected results from initiatives; proactively reach out to other departments as a marketing strategy best-practice resource.
- Understand the Humana business model and industry.
- Lead others in the understanding and integration of that business model.
Qualifications:
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor?s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or a related degree.
- Master?s Degree of Business Administration or equivalent experience, strongly desired.
- Possess at least 15 years? progressively responsible experience focused on headquarters and field marketing, management and strategy development.
- Excellent foundation in marketing fundamentals and best practices, with understanding and demonstrated experience in direct-to-consumer marketing and business-to-business marketing.
- Experience developing and managing a team of marketing professionals.
- Demonstrated ability of managing and prioritizing a diverse set of projects.
- Possess excellent communication, negotiation and diplomacy skills.
- Coach teams to performance excellence and high engagement.
- Have proven experience in turning around relationships, programs and markets.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills.
Reporting Relationships
You will report to the Vice President of Marketing. This area is under the leadership of the Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer.
